T-Mobile US ($TMUS) has officially unveiled its new "T-Mix" wireless plan lineup—launching in November across three pricing tiers—introducing a modular "Picks" system that allows subscribers to customize and rotate their streaming, digital subscription, and hardware perks every three months.
Key pricing tiers, "Picks" perk mechanics, and industry retention drivers include:
- Three-Tier T-Mix Lineup ($55, $75, and $95 Single-Line Pricing): Launching in November, T-Mix Standard ($55/month) includes 50GB of premium data and 480p video streaming; T-Mix More ($75/month) offers unlimited premium data, 4K UHD streaming, 60GB high-speed hotspot, and 15GB Canada/Mexico data; and T-Mix Loaded ($95/month) expands high-speed hotspot capacity to 250GB alongside 30GB in Canada/Mexico and 15GB of international high-speed data.
- Modular "Picks" Currency and Ecosystem Partnerships: Subscribers earn a set number of "Picks" based on plan tier and line count (ranging from 1 Pick per line on Standard up to 3 Picks per line on the first three lines of Loaded), which can be swapped every three months. Picks can be redeemed for wireless features (device promotions, T-Satellite connectivity, prioritized video calling) or third-party subscriptions including Netflix ($NFLX, 1 Pick for Standard with ads), Apple TV+, Hulu, DoorDash DashPass ($DASH), Google Gemini ($GOOGL), YouTube Premium, Delta SkyMiles ($DAL), Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ($MSFT, 3 Picks), and ESPN Unlimited ($DIS, 4 Picks).
- Countering Legacy Plan Churn and Wireless Inflation: The customizable model follows T-Mobile’s June retirement of several legacy plans—which CEO Srini Gopalan previously noted would temporarily elevate Q3 customer churn—and arrives as U.S. wireless CPI rose 3.2% year-over-year in September, with 56% of surveyed consumers considering switching carriers for better value against an average $219 monthly household spend on cellular and digital subscriptions.
