Scott Galloway on America’s Shifting Global Standing: "We're Now Alone at That Table"

Marketing professor and commentator Scott Galloway reflected on the erosion of U.S. soft power, comparing America's historical global role to the "cool kids at the cool table" who maintained influence through generosity and partnership.
Galloway noted that alignment with the U.S. previously offered mutual economic prosperity, security, and global prestige, but argued that the country has gradually isolated itself, leaving it sitting alone.
Highlighting sociological research on popularity, Galloway added that high school studies show the most popular individuals are not the most attractive, but rather those who are genuinely kind and supportive of others.
