Amazon CEO Says AWS Capacity Is Largely Booked Through 2027 as AI Demand Surges
Amazon $AMZN CEO Andy Jassy reportedly said AWS cloud capacity is largely committed through 2027, with a significant portion of 2028 capacity already reserved.
The reported backlog reflects strong demand for AI computing infrastructure, supporting Amazon's substantial investments in data centers, networking and specialized chips.
Jassy also warned that constraints involving power availability, memory supply and data center construction could persist beyond 2027, potentially forcing trade-offs between AI workloads and traditional cloud services.
Amazon shares are reportedly up nearly 30% year to date. However, capacity commitments do not automatically translate into recognized revenue, and the precise booking figures and stock performance require verification.
