Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has encouraged businesses operating data centers to consider opportunities in cryptocurrency infrastructure.
“If you are in data centers, pivot to crypto,” Yakovenko said, drawing attention to the potential overlap between computing infrastructure and blockchain networks.
The comment comes as demand for data center capacity remains a major theme across the technology sector, particularly because of investment in artificial intelligence.
Blockchain infrastructure also requires computing resources, although its technical requirements and business economics differ substantially from those of AI data centers.
