$SNPS and OpenAI Partner to Jointly Develop GPT-Synopsys Chip Design Model
$SNPS and OpenAI have entered into a multi-year strategic partnership to jointly develop GPT-Synopsys, a specialized artificial intelligence model built for advanced semiconductor design.
The agreement features a revenue-sharing framework and a joint go-to-market collaboration to commercialize the technology. As part of the deal, OpenAI will license Synopsys electronic design automation (EDA) tools to train and operate the model.
GPT-Synopsys will run on OpenAI-hosted infrastructure and integrate deeply with Synopsys.ai and Synopsys Autopilot, enabling autonomous agents to handle complex engineering tasks such as power, performance, and area (PPA) optimization, timing closure, and verification.
