Zuckerberg and Top Tech Leaders Sign Voluntary AI Safety Accord with Trump

Meta Platforms ($META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and five other prominent artificial intelligence leaders signed a voluntary safety agreement alongside President Donald Trump at the White House, establishing self-regulatory principles for advanced AI models.
The signatories include Jensen Huang of $NVDA, Sundar Pichai of Alphabet ($GOOGL), Dario Amodei of Anthropic, Greg Brockman of OpenAI, and Elon Musk of xAI. The agreement outlines four layers of operational governance: internal tracking controls during training and deployment, dedicated oversight teams, independent third-party evaluations, and company board committees designated to review external audit findings.
The pact follows pushback from industry leaders against earlier federal proposals that would have established an independent testing agency before model launches. While Trump characterized the document as morally binding and akin to a constitution, critics emphasize that no federal agency has enforcement authority over the standards.
