Jim Cramer Posts Cryptic Four-Word Message as Bitcoin and Tech Stocks Face Selling Pressure
CNBC host Jim Cramer sparked speculation on Nov. 3 with a cryptic post on X: "Crypto put us on." He offered no further explanation as Bitcoin struggled to hold $77,000 and technology stocks faced renewed selling pressure.
Bitcoin briefly fell to $76,300 on Nov. 3, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.1% on Nov. 2 amid concerns about AI spending and technology valuations. Cramer had previously warned investors against trying to call a bottom in the Nasdaq.
Cramer's crypto stance has shifted in recent months. He said in August that he had sold Bitcoin over quantum-computing concerns, then described Bitcoin and Ethereum as more established assets in October while favoring gold for portfolio protection.
Crypto markets are also facing significant security and capital-flow pressures. The reported $6.3 billion Binance hack on Oct. 29 was followed by a separate $38 million breach at Mercado Bitcoin. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $643.2 million in net outflows on Oct. 30 and another $398.6 million on Nov. 2. Binance also saw $4.72 billion in net customer withdrawals after reopening.
Cramer's latest message did not clarify whether he was referring to Bitcoin's decline, broader market weakness or another issue.
