Amazon ($AMZN) has introduced a new lineup of AI-powered wearables named Bee, anchored by the $74.99 Bee Frontier wrist or clothing clip-on and the $99.99 magnetic smartphone-backed Bee Eclipse.
While the hardware serves as an entry point, the company is betting heavily on its recurring software ecosystem through Bee Pro, priced at $11.99 per month or $143.88 annually. The subscription unlocks unlimited conversation summaries, third-party app integrations, personal AI assistance, and direct connections to Alexa+ and Amazon.com.
By linking conversations directly to its retail platform, Amazon aims to translate spoken intents and everyday discussions into personalized product recommendations and shopping opportunities, establishing a continuous revenue model beyond initial device sales.
