$FITB Q3 Revenue Misses Estimates as Comerica Deal Drives 42% YoY Growth

Fifth Third Bancorp reported Q3 2026 revenue of $3.28 billion, slightly below the $3.34 billion estimate, while revenue still increased 42% year over year.
GAAP EPS came in at $0.90, down 1% YoY, while adjusted EPS was $1.13 after excluding $0.23 per share of certain items.
Net interest income increased 49% to $2.27 billion, while noninterest income rose 29% to $1.01 billion.
Net interest margin improved 21 basis points from a year earlier to 3.34%.
Balance-sheet growth was also substantial, with average portfolio loans rising 45% to $179.2 billion and average deposits increasing 45% to $238.3 billion.
Much of the YoY expansion reflects the addition of Comerica, so headline growth rates are not directly comparable with Fifth Third’s standalone business a year ago.
Credit metrics improved, with provisions for credit losses falling 38% to $122 million and the net charge-off ratio declining to 0.31%.
Net income rose 33% to $866 million, although book value per share of $34.31 came in below the $36.13 estimate.
Results also included $225 million of pre-tax merger-related charges, alongside smaller litigation, technology impairment and securities-related items.
The quarter shows strong scale and net interest income growth following the Comerica combination, but the revenue miss and integration-related expenses remain important areas for investors to watch.
