The Solana Foundation has launched Solana DvP (Delivery-versus-Payment), an open-source settlement program developed with advisory input from JPMorgan ($JPM) to enable financial institutions to execute atomic trade settlements in seconds rather than traditional multi-day clearing cycles.
The MIT-licensed architecture compresses traditional multi-step clearinghouse, depository, and custodial legs into a single atomic onchain transaction—ensuring both asset transfer and cash payment execute simultaneously or revert entirely, eliminating principal counterparty risk. JPMorgan contributed guidance on institutional workflow requirements, clearing standards, and compliance frameworks to ensure enterprise readiness from day one.
Externally audited by security firm Cantina, Solana DvP supports native SPL tokens alongside Token-2022 extensions, allowing issuers to utilize regulatory controls such as transfer hooks, pausable tokens, and permanent delegates. The Foundation also outlined a development roadmap to integrate zero-knowledge privacy features, enabling confidential institutional trade execution across commercial banks, brokerages, and custodians.
