PillPack Founder TJ Parker Returns as General Medicine Raises $120M Series B
TJ Parker is returning to healthcare as CEO and co-founder of General Medicine.
Parker previously founded PillPack, served as VP of Health at $AMZN and later became a venture partner at Matrix.
General Medicine also announced a $120 million Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz, giving the company fresh capital to expand its healthcare platform.
The company describes its ambition as becoming a “general store for healthcare,” offering a broader range of treatments and services through a consumer-focused digital platform.
That creates some interesting overlap with $HIMS, particularly as both companies expand beyond individual treatment categories toward more comprehensive healthcare relationships.
One major difference could emerge around GLP-1s and peptides, where Parker has previously taken a much more skeptical stance toward compounded products.
The funding round adds another well-capitalized competitor to digital healthcare as companies race to become the primary consumer platform for managing prescriptions, chronic conditions and everyday care.
