Scott Galloway Recalls Dot-Com Era Meeting With Scient Founder Eric Greenberg
Author and professor Scott Galloway shared a candid retrospective on his early entrepreneurial decisions, questioning his past judgment: "Oh my God, could I have been any more f***ing stupid?"
Galloway recounted that by 1996—four years after founding his brand consultancy Prophet in 1992—the firm was generating around $3 million in annual revenue.
During that period, emerging digital service agencies like Viant and Scient were gaining rapid traction in the market.
Galloway noted that Scient's founder, Eric Greenberg, reached out while he was in San Francisco and invited him to meet after hearing about Prophet's work.
