Tether CEO Fires Back at Critics After Completing First Full Audit

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino is firing back at longtime critics after the company completed its first full financial audit.
“Honestly, I don’t care,” Ardoino said, arguing that Tether has already proven its resilience multiple times.
He pointed to 2022, when Tether processed roughly $7 billion in redemptions within 48 hours without suspending withdrawals — a liquidity shock he argues would put enormous pressure on a traditional bank.
The KPMG audit showed Tether’s reserves exceeded liabilities by approximately $6.8 billion at the end of 2025.
Tether now plans to undergo a full financial audit annually while continuing its quarterly reserve reporting.
