Coinbase CEO Says U.S. Crypto Clarity Is Coming Either Way

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says the U.S. is approaching a major turning point for crypto regulation.
Armstrong expects the Senate to take up the CLARITY Act on September 15, where the bill will need at least 60 votes to advance.
He says he is optimistic it can attract enough bipartisan support.
But even if Congress fails to pass the legislation, Armstrong believes regulatory clarity is still coming.
CFTC leadership has indicated it is prepared to move forward with new crypto rules under existing authority, while the SEC is already developing its own framework for digital assets.
That gives the industry two potential paths:
Congress passes a comprehensive market-structure law.
Or regulators begin building the framework themselves.
Armstrong’s message is simple:
“Clarity is coming either way.”
