Trump Administration Preparing Semiconductor Tariffs With Exemptions for U.S. Production, Says Lutnick

The Trump administration is developing a targeted tariff framework for semiconductors designed to enforce domestic manufacturing compliance, according to U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Under the proposed policy, companies that manufacture chips within the United States will be exempt from the duties, while those importing foreign-produced semiconductors will face tariffs to access the domestic market.
