Bessent: U.S. Targets 35% of Advanced Chip Production at Home by End of Decade

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. aims to bring 35% of advanced semiconductor production back home by the end of the decade as part of a broader push to secure critical supply chains.
"Trade security, economic security and national security all go together," Bessent said, arguing that the U.S. must rebuild domestic manufacturing, skilled labor, and industrial capacity.
