Brian Kelly’s Bracket22 Runs With Four AI Agents Instead of a $5M+ Team

Veteran fund manager Brian Kelly says his Bracket22 hedge fund is now operating with four AI agents handling much of the work previously done by a large human team.
According to CNBC, the agents cover research, risk analysis, chart analysis and quantitative strategies at a total cost of roughly $40,000 per year.
Kelly previously ran a team of 7–8 people across New York, Hong Kong and California to cover crypto markets around the clock, costing more than $5 million annually.
The new setup assigns specialized roles to each AI agent.
Houston runs the operation, Doocey red-teams trade ideas, Steffi focuses on chart analysis and Desmond runs quantitative strategies over the weekend.
Kelly says the system produces roughly 10 times the output of his previous team while eliminating the need for analysts to wake up at 3 a.m. to monitor a 24/7 market.
His role is now largely to supervise the system, which he jokingly describes as being “the meat in the chair.”
The bigger implication is that hedge funds may increasingly look like one portfolio manager overseeing a small human team with a much larger layer of AI agents underneath.
