Jason warns free AI tokens may not be free

Jason Calacanis says companies should be careful when frontier AI providers offer free tokens.
His point is that free access can come with strategic risk.
When a powerful platform gives a company cheap or free distribution, compute, or tooling, the company may also be exposing its workflows and future product direction.
That is the deeper fear around OpenAI and other model providers.
The upfront cost may look attractive.
But the long-term price could be losing control of the value being created on top of the model.
