Ramp Applies for US National Trust Bank Charter to Expand Custody and Fiduciary Services
Financial technology company Ramp has reportedly submitted an application to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national trust bank charter.
If approved, the charter could allow Ramp to offer fiduciary investment management and digital asset custody services under a federally supervised trust banking framework.
The application reflects growing interest among financial technology companies in obtaining regulated infrastructure for custody and other institutional financial services.
However, submitting an application does not guarantee approval. The proposed activities, supervisory requirements and permitted services will depend on the OCC's review and any conditions attached to a final charter.
