Palantir CEO Alex Karp Criticizes Enterprise Software Models for Prioritizing Vendor Lock-In Over Value

Palantir ($PLTR) CEO Alex Karp has voiced strong criticism of conventional enterprise software business models, arguing they are fundamentally engineered to create customer dependency rather than drive client success.
Karp contended that traditional enterprise software frequently commoditizes proprietary capabilities, diluting a client's competitive advantages so the vendor can resell similar functionality across the broader market.
He further noted that while investors favor "sticky" software models with high switching barriers, that persistent lock-in typically accrues economic value to the vendor at the expense of genuine client pricing power and operational autonomy.
