Amazon Expands AI Wearable Lineup With $75 Bee Frontier and $100 Bee Eclipse
Amazon ($AMZN) CEO Andy Jassy announced the launch of two new dedicated AI hardware devices under its Bee division—the Bee Frontier wearable and the Bee Eclipse smartphone recorder.
The devices are designed to continuously capture audio and turn spoken dialogue into structured meeting notes, action items, calendar events, and reminders:
- Hardware specifications: The Bee Frontier ($74.99) is an IP67 water-resistant wearable (wristband or clothing clip) with dual microphones and a 7-day battery life. The Bee Eclipse ($99.99) is a credit-card-sized device that magnetically attaches to the back of a phone, delivering over 21 days of battery life per charge.
- Software integration: Both models integrate with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar), Microsoft Outlook, and Amazon's Alexa+ ecosystem, enabling automated follow-up drafts and personalized product prompts derived from conversations.
- Pricing model: Amazon includes basic transcription, action-item extraction, and a 14-day memory window for free, while charging $11.99/month for an optional "Bee Pro" tier offering expanded integrations, proactive task tracking, and extended memory.
- Data governance: Amazon emphasizes a Private Compute framework, stating raw audio is processed in real time and deleted immediately after transcription, with encrypted data controlled by the user.
