Senator Cynthia Lummis accused banks of actively working to block the CLARITY Act. According to Lummis, banks want changes to the GENIUS Act's stablecoin provisions added to the CLARITY Act before they'll support it, and reportedly fired the lobbyists who had negotiated a compromise, now pushing for a do-over.
