Peter Thiel on selling Meta too early
Peter Thiel says he underestimated how easy it would be for $META to go from $100B to $1T.
Back in 2012, he thought that jump would be much harder.
In hindsight, he says it may have been the easiest part.
That is a brutal investing lesson.
The hardest companies to hold are often the ones that already look huge.
But sometimes the best businesses keep compounding long after they look too expensive, too obvious, or too mature.
The mistake is not always buying too high.
Sometimes it is selling the winner too early.
