$AMZN AI Compute Is Reportedly Sold Out Beyond 2028

Ben Horowitz says Amazon’s CEO told him AI compute capacity is already sold out “beyond 2028.”
If accurate, that would underline how far demand for AI infrastructure continues to run ahead of available supply.
The bottleneck is increasingly about more than securing enough $NVDA or $AMD GPUs.
Power, cooling, land, networking and finished data-center capacity are becoming equally important constraints on how quickly new compute can come online.
That helps explain the strategic value of companies such as $NBIS, $IREN and $CRWV, which are racing to bring new AI infrastructure capacity to market.
The bullish thesis is that if hyperscalers are effectively pre-selling compute years in advance, newly completed capacity could find customers relatively quickly.
It also suggests existing GPU fleets may remain economically useful for longer than some investors expect as demand continues to exceed supply.
That does not eliminate execution, financing or customer-concentration risks for neocloud operators.
But if AI compute remains structurally undersupplied into 2028 and beyond, recent drawdowns across infrastructure names may be pricing in a much weaker demand environment than the one customers are currently signaling.
