$AMD is taking a page out of $GOOGL's DeepMind and TPU playbook with its $8 billion World Labs acquisition, bringing AI model development closer to chip design.
World models require enormous memory capacity and bandwidth to process video, 3D environments, and spatial data, which fits AMD's push toward higher HBM capacity.
Owning that workload gives AMD a much earlier view of what future AI chips need to deliver, especially as Physical AI moves toward robotics and autonomous systems.
